Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is a very meaningful month for me, not only because I am a breast cancer survivor but because this was the month back in 2010 when I first discovered a lump in my breast. Driven by a friend’s Facebook post, I got it checked out, was diagnosed at an early stage and ultimately believe that awareness saved my life.

To commemorate my journey and 3-year cancerversary, I will walk 60 miles in the Komen 3-Day Dallas. This month, I am asking my friends and supporters for a donation – in any amount – toward my 3-Day fundraising goal. But more importantly, I encourage you to visit my Team Roxy Facebook page this month to become educated about breast cancer. Share the info that you find helpful with the women you love, just like my friend Laura did with me in October 2010. You just never know whose life it may save.
