Day 1: Courage

I dedicate Day 1 of my 3-Day journey to Courage. As I commemorate my 3-year cancerversary, the anniversary date of my diagnosis, I join hundreds of others for a 60 mile walk in the fight against breast cancer.

Like my journey with breast cancer, I don’t know exactly what is in store for me. I don’t know whether I will even be able to complete the walk. But my journey has taught me to be courageous. And remember: “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.”

So, this weekend, I take comfort in knowing that this is not a race, but rather a celebration of my triumph over breast cancer. And I will walk with courage.

The past 3 years have been one heck of a journey! I’ve learned a lot about life, love and myself through this incredible journey. As I embark on my third year of survivorship, I have a special message for breast cancer.
